Iron Giant Fabrication and Welding was founded by  Calico (Jason Blanchett ) in 2016 to create high quality metal work both welded and forged. Using a combination of modern and traditional techniques,  we create with steel, stainless steel, brass, bronze, copper and aluminum. The primary focus is architectural ironwork. We also offer industrial fabrication and welding. 

The company started out in Calico’s garage and has grown into a 2600 square feet industrial zoned space. In 2019 the company’s growth necessitated the addition of two fabricators and an administrative assistant. 

Calico was asked to teach  a welding class at the American College of the Building Arts in Charleston, SC. That program lasted  a year and a half and was a great experience. So much so that Calico joined the Welding Department teaching staff in the Skilled Trades Group of CPCC in January of 2022. Teaching has been a tremendous way to help nurture the next generation of welders.
